Have a question?

FAQs

Below are some of the most asked questions. If you don't see a question listed below please don't hesitate to ask us! We promise any question is a good question as we want you to be comfortable and knowledgeable.

How do I need to prepare for my tattoo appointment?

This is a great question! Please EAT! Have a light lunch or meal 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. You are also welcome to bring non alcoholic drinks and light snacks if your appointment will last more then two hours.

Do you accept Debit/credit cards, venmo, cash apps?

The simple answer is NO. We are an all cash shop, this policy is in place to protect our artists and owner.

Do I need to tip my artist?

It is customary in our industry to tip your artist once the tattoo or piercing is complete. Your artist does have to pay shop fees to lease the space they work in. So if your tattoo or piercing cost x amount of dollars that doesn't mean the full amount goes to your artist. Tipping your artist ensures that full amount goes directly to them to show your appreciation for their work.

What ID do I need to Bring?

You MUST be over 18 years of age to get a tattoo. If you are over 18 years old you will need your drivers license or any government issued photo id.

Do i need an appointment?

This will vary day by day. We love to take walk ins for both tattoos and piercings. The downside to this is if you do not have an appointment on a set day you could be stuck waiting at the shop for a longer period of time while an artist draws your tattoo designs or preps for your piercing. We recommend appointments but feel free to call us on the day you want to come in and see if we have the opening.

At what age can you get piercings?

At our shop it will vary by piercing location. Always call and talk to our piercing artist if you have questions. We most commonly get ask this pertaining to ear lopes. We will pierce a child's ear lopes as long as they can sit still by themselves and are able to consent. We would need the guardian's government issued photo id and a copy of the child's birth certificate.

After your appointment

Aftercare for tattoos and piercings.

How to care for  your new art

For both new tattoos and piercings before you touch them always wash your hands with warm water and dial unscented antibacterial soap.

For a new tattoo after you have cleaned your hands wash it at least 3-4 times a day with warm water and dial unscented antibacterial soap for 4 days after your initial appointment. Once you have washed your new tattoo apply a tattoo aftercare ointment. We recommend Griffin Skin Salve or Uazu Skincare, you can pick these up in our shop after your appointment.  On the 5th day you can switch to applying a non-scented moisturizing lotion (Lubriderm).

For a new piercing other then an oral piercing clean the area twice daily with saline solution or Neilmed piercing aftercare. We have Neilmed piercing aftercare available in the shop for you to pick up after your appointment. Use antibacterial soap on the area when in the shower. Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or any ointment on the piercing site.

For a new oral piercing after anything enters your mouth, rinse with mouth wash. Use ice or anything cold like a popsicle to help with swelling. Avoid spicy foods, acidic foods, oral sex, and smoking/drinking.

We will always provide you an aftercare sheet after your appointment, if you have an issues after an appointment please feel free to call us or come by.

  • healing takes time

Depending on your health a new tattoo should be fully healed within 1-3 weeks.  For a new piercing your artist will advise when you can change your jewelry based off the location of the piercing.

  • Things to aVOID

With a new tattoo avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, lakes, swimming pools, and hot tubs. With a new piercing do not use a wash cloth or loofah near the new site as they can get caught and ripped out.

During the healing process the site may itch. Do not pick, peel, and/or scratch the area. Your skin is healing and needs to be treated as a fresh wound.
